Nitric Oxide
-
What is Nitric Oxide?
Let’s be honest. There are a lot of overhyped supplements on the market that promise to help you live forever, even if you don’t have great lifestyle habits.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If you plan to take Redwood without eating healthy food or getting off the couch, you might as well save your money.
In reality, supplements are meant to support your already healthy lifestyle and aren’t meant as a replacement for proper nutrition, sleep, or exercise.
How many people have you seen at the gym taking branched chain amino acids (BCAAs)?
Even though there’s little evidence to support their ability to help you gain muscle, they’ve become one of the most popular exercise supplements on the market.
Redwood improves your blood flow and circulation by increasing your body’s natural production of a chemical called nitric oxide.
Nitric oxide is what’s known as a vasodilator, which means it helps your blood vessels relax.
If you want to see if a supplement is worth your money, you should compare the doses of the supplement’s ingredients with the doses proven to work in research.
We know you’re probably too busy to dive into a literature review for every supplement you’re thinking about taking, which is why we’ve done it for you.
When we were designing Redwood, we wanted to build a supplement with ingredients that we can stand behind.
Each of the five key ingredients in Redwood has research to support its ability to improve your circulatory health and increase your blood flow. If you want to check our homework you can find the studies to back our ingredients here.
-
Production of Nitric Oxide
Never heard of nitric oxide? Then you might want to familiarize yourself with this powerful chemical that can have huge benefits for your overall health.
Your blood vessels naturally produce and release nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is what’s known as a vasodilator. When nitric oxide flows through your blood vessels, it relaxes them so that they can easily expand.
Nitric oxide in the body is basically like Epsom salt in a bubble bath. Imagine sliding into the tub and feeling every muscle in your body relax. That’s basically what nitric oxide does to your blood vessels.
The biggest difference between taking Redwood Supplement and a blood pressure medication is that Redwood supports your natural nitric oxide production instead of artificially relaxing your blood vessels.
What often happens when companies are designing a blood flow enhancement and nitric oxide boosting supplement is they find a handful of cheap ingredients and lean on a few iffy research studies.
Redwood: The Basics
-
How Does Redwood Work?
Redwood is a nitric oxide booster.
Because Redwood only includes ingredients that support your body’s natural nitric oxide levels, it doesn’t cause side effects like many blood pressure medications.
Even if you’re young and fit, there are advantages to improving your nitric oxide production.
One study found that when soccer players took a combination of L-arginine and L-citrulline (two proven nitric oxide boosters), they improved their power output measured by cycling after just seven days!
Of course, it’s not a miracle cure. We’re not saying that taking Redwood is a hall pass to eat as much garbage as you want. We’ve designed it to support your already healthy diet and lifestyle habits.
Redwood works to increase nitric oxide production and promote vasodilation with scientifically proven ingredients.

What is in Redwood?
Never heard of nitric oxide? Then you might want to familiarize yourself with this powerful chemical that can have huge benefits for your overall health.
Your blood vessels naturally produce and release nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is what’s known as a vasodilator. When nitric oxide flows through your blood vessels, it relaxes them so that they can easily expand.
As we’ve already mentioned, we’ve only included ingredients with clinical research supporting them. In our literature review, we found that the following are the most effective for improving your circulatory health.
- Vitamin C
- Garlic
- Horse Chestnut Extract
- Pine Bark Extract
- Lactotripeptides (IPP + VPP)
All five ingredients in Redwood can aid your circulatory health by improving your body’s natural nitric oxide production—which is why we refer to Redwood as a nitric oxide booster.
Redwood Supplement Ingredient Doses
As we’ve already mentioned, each of our ingredients has clinical-research to back it. We’ve also made sure that we’ve included each ingredient in the exact dose research shows to be effective.
Redwood Supplement Ingredient List
You may be able to get many of the ingredients we’ve included in Redwood through food. However, taking a supplement helps you get the exact correct doses.
It’s much easier to take a few capsules a day than it is to eat the 30 oranges it would take to get the same amount of vitamin C (and how often do you cook with pine bark?).
Here’s what each daily dose (six capsules) of Redwood provides you with. If you want to look at the research for any of these ingredients yourself, we’ve curated it here.
-
Recommended Daily Dosage
We recommend that you take three capsules twice per day and spread out the doses close to 12 hours apart.
Nitric oxide breaks down quickly in your body so by taking your doses evenly throughout the day, you’ll have an even release of nitric oxide at all times.
Our recommendation is to take Redwood with breakfast as soon as you wake and then again with dinner or a bedtime snack. Because some of the ingredients are fat-soluble, it’s always best to take it with food.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally found in many foods.
Unlike other mammals, this antioxidant cannot be naturally produced or synthesized by humans because of a mutation in the GULO (gulonolactone oxidase) gene, therefore it needs to be added to our diets through foods and dietary supplements.
Although it has many uses and benefits, Vitamin C is known best for treating the common cold.
Vitamin C is also known as L-ascorbic acid, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium-L-Ascorbate, Potassium-L-Ascorbate, Calcium-L-Ascorbate, and L-Ascorbyl-6-Palmitate.
Vitamin C has been found to have four main health benefits in the prevention and treatment of the following conditions:
- Common Cold: Studies have found that vitamin C may shorten the duration of the common cold and reduce symptom severity.
- Cancer: Research suggests that higher consumption of fruits and vegetables that contain vitamin C can reduce oxidative damage to cells, which may lead to cancer. Specifically, vitamin C seems to adversely affect lung, breast, colon or rectum, stomach, oral cavity, larynx or pharynx, and esophagus cancer.
- Cardiovascular Disease: Foods rich in vitamin C and dietary supplements have been shown to lower the chances of coronary heart disease risk and prevent stroke.
- Cataracts and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD): Vitamin C may prevent or slow the development of these conditions, which are the primary causes of loss of vision in older adults.
Vitamin C is vital to the production of bones, teeth, skin, cartilage, blood vessels, ligaments and tendons. It facilitates the healing process of wounds and cuts and fights free radicals that cause aging.
Although studies offer mixed results on the effectiveness of vitamin C, it may be due to the fact that different doses were administered in each particular study. Commonly, vitamin C is used to treat the following conditions:
- Gum Disease
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Disease
- Bronchitis
- Stomach Ulcers
- Dysentery
- Bladder Infections
- Acne and Skin Conditions
- Depression
- Dementia
- Stress and Fatigue
- Schizophrenia †
For blood flow Vitamin C increases the stability and bioavailability of the BH4 cofactor which is a helper molecule required in Nitric Oxide production. This increased stability and bioavailability of BH4 means an increase in Nitric Oxide production occurs.

Garlic
For years, garlic powder has been used all around the world as a way to maintain and boost one’s health.
When most people think of garlic powder, they think of a seasoning used in Italian foods such as spaghetti, pizza and garlic bread. Today, garlic powder is also commonly taken as a dietary supplement because of the myriad of benefits it offers.
Let’s take a closer look at garlic powder, and its relationship to your health.
Garlic powder is made from garlic bulb, which is the edible bulb of the garlic plant. The cloves are dehydrated and finely ground. Even though garlic powder is made from the garlic bulb, it has a different taste than fresh garlic. It is sweeter and not quite as potent as fresh garlic.
Garlic powder is not only used as a flavor to dishes, but it also provides a variety of health benefits. This dietary supplement is used to combat high blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health.
Studies have shown that cardiovascular health is promoted by inhibiting platelet aggregation (precursor to thrombus), which helps in preventing cardiovascular disease.
A different study proved that garlic powder is not only effective as a preventative in plaque regression in the femoral and carotid arteries but may also help in plaque regression as well, helping to get rid of the plaque present.
It is also taken to reduce high cholesterol, relieve symptoms from the common cold and prevent certain cancers.
A study conducted by The University of Florida showed that garlic powder has a positive effect on immune function. Those who were given garlic supplements showed a reduced risk of contracting the cold and flu. If they did contract a cold or flu, the symptoms were not as severe as their counterparts who received a placebo.
Garlic is also known for its antioxidant properties which inhibit oxidation and help prevent damage to the body’s cells caused by free radicals. It is suggested that cell damage has a negative effect on diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimers’s and Parkinson’s.
There are two amino acids that play a role in nitric oxide production: L-arginine and L-Citrulline. Garlic contains a key compound known as quercetin that helps boost L-arginine, which is an amino acid needed to produce nitric oxide. Quercetin also activates an enzyme in your body that allows your body to turn L-arginine into nitric oxide.
Research shows that taking 600-1200 mg split into two doses a day is the most effective. †

Horse Chestnut Extract
Historically horse chestnut has been grown in the Balkan Peninsula, but is now grown worldwide. Its benefits include being beneficial for fever, leg cramps, joint pain, as well as bladder and digestive problems.
The most notable benefit, however, is seen with its ability to help alleviate varicose veins and enhance endothelial cell function, which are the cells that make up the blood vessels.
Horse chestnut extract improves your overall circulatory health when taken in doses of about 400-600mg per day.
The active ingredient in horse chestnut extract is called aescin. Aescin is a series of triterpenoid glycosides that are responsible for the benefits of horse chestnut extract such as:
- Chronic Venous insufficiency (especially varicose veins)
- Inflammation
- Hemorrhoids
- Infertility
- Swelling
You should aim to get 100-150mg of aescin to maximize its benefits. It’s best to spread your dose throughout the day, which is why we recommend taking Redwood in the morning and evening.†
-
Pine Bark Extract
Pine Bark Extract is an increasingly popular supplement that has many different pharmacological benefits.
Pine bark extract has a long history dating back to 1534 but was awarded a patent in 1987 to Masquelier.
Pine bark extract is dense in what is known as procyanidins and other phenolic compounds that are responsible for its benefits.
Some of the benefits that are associated with high pine bark extracts are:
- Improved circulation
- Improved nitric oxide production
- Improved glucose control
- Cognitive enhancement
When supplementing with pine bark extract there is the patented form with a 65-75% standardized extract of procyanidins known as pycnogenol.
Redwood uses a 90% + pycnogenol extract, making it the most potent on the market.
Pine bark extract is usually supplemented in the 100-200 mg range for the best results.†

Isoleucyl-Prolyl-Proline, Valyl-Prolyl-Proline
Many supplements originate from natural sources such as ancient plants and herbs that have been used for medicinal and therapeutic purposes since their discovery. IPP-VPP is one such supplement that originates from one of the most common proteins found in milk.
Another name for IPP-VPP is casein hydrolysate. Caseins are the main protein component found in cow’s milk.
Casein hydrolysate is a casein derivative which has been hydrolyzed. This means that the protein has been broken down into its constituents, which are amino acids.
Casein hydrolysate is easier to digest and absorb because it’s broken down more than casein which, in its natural state, has not been hydrolyzed.
The Benefits of IPP-VPP include:
Cardiovascular Health
IPP-VPP offers cardiovascular benefits. Studies show that those who have mild hypertension can experience improved vascular endothelial dysfunction. Hypertension can be a very serious health problem and can be managed to a certain extent with diet. The use of IPP-VPP can help ward off and alleviate the symptoms of cardiovascular disease.
Treatment for Sarcopenia
Sarcopenia, also known as muscle loss affects 50 million people around the world. It is most prevalent in the elderly, as muscle loss is a common process in the aging process. IPP-VPP can help slow the progression of sarcopenia.
Metabolic Enhancement
Avid cyclists can benefit from IPP-VPP. In fact, one study showed that those who consumed IPP-VPP experienced enhanced metabolic function during moderate to strenuous cycling without altering performance. IPP-VPP has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, especially in the gastrointestinal tract.
Aid in the Digestion of Dairy
For children who experience sensitivity to cow’s milk, it can be difficult to find a formula they can tolerate. One study, in particular, looked at the safety of feeding children formula with casein hydrolysate. The results revealed that feeding children formula with IPP-VPP is generally considered safe. For parents who are interested in feeding their babies milk-based formulas, this is a viable alternative.
IPP-VPP can be used in a couple of different ways. Because it’s derived from dairy, IPP-VPP can be added to other foods. In fact, studies show that IPP-VPP is effective as a functional food ingredient. IPP-VPP is also an effective oral dietary supplement that is particularly common for those who avidly engage in strength training.
IPP-VPP is not regulated by the FDA. For this reason, there are not established recommended dosages. It is important when taking any supplement to follow the manufacturer’s directions and to consult with your medical provider, who can provide advice based on age, health and current medication regimen. It is critical to ensure that taking IPP-VPP won’t result in reduced medication efficacy or result in a negative interaction.IPP, VPP is a group of peptides extracted from casein protein. Clinical research on Isoleucyl-Prolyl-Proline, Valyl-Prolyl-Proline has shown that it normalizes blood pressure, maintains both systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and promotes arterial elasticity. Isoleucyl-Prolyl-Proline, Valyl-Prolyl-Proline opens up incredible blood flow by inhibiting a particular enzyme that causes blood vessels to shrink.†
Redwood: What You Get
-
Benefits of Redwood
You may be thinking about taking Redwood to help keep your blood pressure under control. However, there are even more benefits to improving your circulation and blood flow.
Here’s a list of some of the other benefits you can expect because of Redwood’s ability to increase nitric oxide production:
- Lowered blood pressure
- Improved circulation
- Improvements in erectile dysfunction
- Improved endurance when exercising
- Improved nutrient delivery
- Reduced varicose veins
- Regeneration of blood vessels
- Improved muscle pump when exercising
Take Redwood Supplement to Improve Your Blood Pressure and Blood Circulation
All the ingredients in Redwood have research to support them as nitric oxide boosters.
We’ve included each ingredient in the exact amount research shows is beneficial. All amounts listed below are per daily serving (six capsules).
As we already mentioned, Redwood can improve your blood pressure by stimulating the release of nitric oxide and relaxing your blood vessels.
When your blood vessels relax, their volume increases so your blood doesn’t push as hard against the walls of your circulatory system and the overall pressure decreases.
Redwood Helps Your Heart Muscle Pump Blood
As we’ve already mentioned, Redwood can improve your blood pressure by increasing nitric oxide production.
When your blood pressure is high, your circulatory system essentially becomes a balloon being pumped with air that can’t escape.
Decreasing your blood pressure and improving circulation can lower your risk of developing heart disease or having a heart attack or stroke. It also has several benefits such as the following:
- Increased energy
- Better sensation in hands and feet
- Improved concentration
- Improved blood pressure
- Improved erectile dysfunction
- Decreased swelling in your lower legs
- Better recovery of your muscle cells
There are tons of useless supplements out there that rely solely on buzzwords and aggressive marketing for sales, which is why you should always read the ingredient list before purchasing a supplement. Don’t just look at the ingredients, but also check the doses of each.
Redwood Reduces Symptoms of Varicose Veins
Different blood vessels in your body experience different amounts of pressure. The blood vessels in your lower body have to work hard against gravity whereas the blood vessels above your heart experience a much lower pressure gradient.
When the valves that prevent backflow of blood to the legs become weak, blood begins to pool. When this happens, it’s common to experience varicose veins.
By decreasing the amount of pressure the veins have to push blood back up towards the heart you prevent the pooling of blood and formation of varicose veins.
Redwood Improves Erectile Dysfunction
Improving nitric oxide production can improve the health of both men and women, but this benefit is specifically for men. Redwood improves erectile dysfunction by allowing blood vessels in the penis to relax.
Many erectile dysfunction medications improve erections by either increasing L-arginine and L-citrulline (amino acids that stimulate nitric oxide release) concentrations or by directly increasing nitric oxide production.
Instead of increasing nitric oxide artificially with medication we encourage you to support your body’s natural production of nitric oxide with natural scientifically backed ingredients in Redwood.
Redwood Improves Exercise Performance
Many pre-workout supplements include specific amino acids to increase blood flow by increasing nitric oxide production.
When the walls of your blood vessels are relaxed, your muscle cells can receive more oxygen each time your heart muscle pumps blood. Imagine your blood vessels are like a garden hose and your heart is the faucet. A more elastic hose allows for water to flow through more efficiently.

Who Benefits the Most From Redwood?
We feel confident that anybody can benefit from taking a nitric oxide boosting supplement like Redwood. However, there are certain groups of people who may particularly benefit from taking it.
High blood pressure is called the silent killer because it increases your risk of developing serious issues with your heart and is often found in people who seem otherwise healthy. It’s thought that more than 75 million Americans are walking around with high blood pressure.
If somebody in your family has high blood pressure, you’re at an increased risk of developing it yourself.
As you age, your blood vessels naturally become less elastic so your risk of developing circulatory problems increases.
If you’re over 50, you’re in the highest risk demographic for developing circulatory problems.
However, it’s a good idea to monitor your blood pressure no matter how old you are.
If you’re overweight or obese, you also have a higher risk of developing circulatory problems. If you’ve noticed your energy levels lagging recently or if your blood pressure is abnormally high, you may benefit from taking steps to improve your circulation.
However, anybody can benefit from taking Redwood and improving nitric oxide production.
If you’re an athlete, you can enjoy improved exercise endurance from being able to pump more blood to your muscles.
It’s never too early to take your circulatory health seriously. If you have high blood pressure or symptoms of varicose veins, you may be able to control the symptoms by taking Redwood. Even if you haven’t experienced symptoms yet, you can use Redwood in a preventative way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everybody is different, so sometimes what works for most people may not work as well for you.
Particularly if you have a pre-existing medical condition, you may have some challenges when you add a potent supplement to your regimen.
If you are taking a prescription drug, we strongly recommend that you consult your prescribing medical professional before introducing a new supplement.
We can’t tell you how a drug might interact with a supplement, beyond saying that sometimes the drug or your underlying condition contraindicate the use of one or more ingredients in a supplement, and it’s important to consult your prescribing physician to make sure everything will work well together to support your health.
Another thing to consider is your overall sensitivity to foods and supplements, as well as your body weight. If you know you’re quite sensitive or you are petite, start out slowly with a lower dose and work up to our recommended serving size, paying attention to how you feel, and dial it back if you find that your body isn’t tolerating the ‘whole enchilada’ – maybe you’re happiest with half an enchilada.
Know that efficacy is proven at the recommended serving size, but again, that’s a general rule and you may still be able to experience the benefits with a lower dose!
Our Suggested Use instructions call for 3 capsules, 2 times per day with meals.
This works very well for the vast majority of our customers. However, if you’re one of the few who have the following concerns, you might try a lower dose and see how that goes, rather than jumping in at the full serving size.
-
Hemorrhoids
Increasing circulation might not feel good if you suffer from this condition, however, if you want to try Redwood, proceed cautiously with a lower dose of 1 capsule per day, with a meal. Increase to the recommended serving size slowly and only if your body is comfortable.
-
Digestive Issues
Three ingredients in Redwood are integral to the formula, but occasionally cause digestive issues. Make sure to take Redwood with a meal.
-
Garlic
If you have IBS or have an easily disturbed digestive system, and/or experience frequent bloating or gas, then the garlic in Redwood may be triggering discomfort.
Check into FODMAP intolerances – you’ll see that garlic is listed as a common irritant for people who don’t do well with FODMAPs.
-
Horse Chestnut Extract
This is another ingredient that on very rare occasions people are sensitive to. You can try a lower dose of 1 capsule per day, with a meal and if that works, great!
If you continue to experience symptoms such as a rash or itchy skin then stop the supplement and get your refund.
-
High Dose Vitamin C?
The formula relies upon a 1,000 mg dose of Vitamin C per three capsules to help deliver the benefits of the formula, and for some people, that much Vitamin C can be irritating to their digestion.
Try a lower dose of 1 capsule per day, with a meal and see if that works for your GI tract.
If you try lowering the dose and are taking Redwood with meals, but still experience digestive issues, one of the ingredients (or a combination of them) doesn’t suit you.
We’ll happily refund your money if you can’t use the product, so just let us know!
-
When is My Credit Card Charged for Redwood?
You’ll be charged as soon as you make a purchase.
