The deepest sleep of your life.
Every day, we are so focused on the things that keep us awake, that we ignore the importance of sleep. In fact, if we paid as much attention to sleep supplements as we do to caffeinated drinks, we wouldn't need as much exogenous energy during the day anyway! zuSLEEP by UMZU is a thoroughly research-backed blend of 6 different vitamins, minerals and herbs. zuSLEEP has been used by 10,000's to sleep deeper, sleep longer, relax, recover and improve mood.
Let's bridge the gap between health and humanity
We believe in the power of the body's ability to heal the individual, and that medication and surgery should be a last resort. The products and services we provide are designed to give the body what it needs to thrive, heal and repair naturally. We do this by integrating natural health and objective, research-backed education to provide people with everything their bodies need to operate at maximum potential.
The most important step in achieving our mission is to deliver proper health and nutritional education to the public. Unfortunately, public school health education is decades behind, and medical schooling tends to avoid nutritional education in order to test the theories behind the efficacy of pharmaceuticals in isolation.
We choose our products carefully and research them thoroughly before releasing to the public. If you choose not to start your health journey with UMZU, we still encourage you to browse the educational pieces below. The more you understand about your body, the better you will be able to take control of your own health.

The Problem with Sleep
Did you know 70 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep problems?
Here's the problem.
- Melatonin supplementation is common, causing a deficiency in natural production of melatonin
- Blue light exposure from night-time cell phone use can cause sleep issues
- Respiratory problems can prevent deep sleep, and many young adults now smoke
- Stress often negatively impacts sleep - and stress levels are peaking
- Micronutrient deficiencies can cause lack of sleep, and diets are becoming more nutrient void
- Weight gain can cause sleep issues, and the obesity rate is climbing
-
What Happens When You Sleep?
Within a minute of falling asleep, notable changes start to affect both the brain and body.
Body temperature drops, brain activity ramps down, and heart rate and respiration slow. Not surprisingly, the body's energy expenditure is lower during sleep.
Your body goes through multiple sleep cycles, each of which lasts between 70 and 120 minutes.
- STAGE 1: Dozing Off - 1 to 5 minutes
- STAGE 2: Slowing body and brain activity - 10 to 60 minutes
- STAGE 3: Slow-Wave or Delta Sleep - 20 to 40 minutes
- STAGE 4: REM "Rapid Eye Movement" Sleep - 10 to 60 minutes
Our goal here is to spend more time in REM sleep, where memory and learning occur.
-
How Does Your Body Regulate Sleep?
The body regulates sleep with two key drivers: sleep-wake homeostasis and the circadian rhythm alerting system:
- Sleep-wake homeostasis: This system is what makes the body tired - the longer you're awake, the more you feel a need to sleep.
- The circadian alerting system: Circadian rhythms last roughly 24 hours and play a central role in numerous biological processes. This system encourages wakefulness during the day and sleepiness at night.
A wide range of external factors and cause the above systems to act out of regulation - most commonly caffeine and blue light exposure.
-
What Chemicals and Hormones Are Used During Sleep?
Digging one level deeper, we can look at the hormones and chemicals that cause sleep:
- Adenosine: Builds up while we are awake until we sleep. Caffeine suppresses adenosine, explaining part of how it promotes wakefulness.
- Melatonin: Promotes sleep as light exposure decreases. It's important to note that you should not ever supplement with Melatonin, or any other hormone, as this will stymie natural production of said hormone, causing dependency.
Other crucial chemicals: GABA, acetylcholine, orexin and serotonin.
-
Why is Sleep Important?
Sleep is still being studied as to exactly WHY all animal species sleep, but here's what we know:
- Sleep is fundamental to well-being
- Sleep is critical to physical and mental development in babies, children and young adults
- Lack of sleep has been linked with the following health consequences:
- Cardiovascular problems
- Weakened immune system
- Higher risk of obesity
- Impaired thinking and memory
- Mental health problems

What's Inside? View Supplement Fact Panel
zuSLEEP is a blend of vitamins, minerals and herbs meant to be a potential natural alternative to melatonin.
Most people do not know this, but melatonin is actually a hormone - meaning that exogenous supplementation may interrupt your body's own natural secretion.
We do not recommend supplementing with melatonin, but lack of sleep is a massive problem in modern society. zuSLEEP is the natural solution. Fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer with zuSLEEP.†
KSM-66 Ashwagandha
There is scientific evidence that ashwagandha supplementation promotes optimal sleep by serving as an agonist to the brain GABA-receptors which promote sedative effects and relaxation in the body. Ashwagandha can also suppress the stress-hormone cortisol and reduces disturbance from occasional feelings of anxiety & stress.†
Glycine
3 grams of glycine taken 1-hour before hitting the sack reduced morning fatigue and improved self-reported sleep quality in this human study…†
In another study, 3 grams of glycine taken before bed-time, not only increased self-reported sleep quality and day-time cognitive abilities, but also resulted in reduced onset sleep latency and faster time to reach slow wave sleep when tested with EEG apparatus (the kind of machine that senses brain activity via scalp electrodes). †
Magnesium Glycinate
The evidence on the effectiveness of magnesium for sleep parameters is very interesting. A double-blind randomized clinical trial with 46 elderly subjects found that 500 mg’s of daily magnesium taken for 8 weeks significantly increased sleep time, sleep efficiency, and melatonin production, while simultaneously reducing cortisol levels and sleep onset latency.†
One study consisting of 100 subjects also showed improved sleep quality with a daily dose of 320mg magnesium citrate (this is roughly the RDA of magnesium).†
Lemon Balm Extract
Lemon Balm Extract, technically called “Melissa officinalis”, is an herb with powerful relaxant properties. It has also been shown to reduce occasional anxiety and restlessness, which makes it a perfect addition for The Sleep Induction Blend, as it will help your body calm down and slow down for sleep.†
As an added benefit, it also improves mood and increases cognition, helping you fall asleep with a smile on your face and the possibility of awesome dreams.†
L-Theanine
L-theanine is an ingredient that is commonly used to “take the edge” off. It helps to promote GABA production in the brain, which as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, leaves you feeling relaxed and stress-free. L-theanine is also particularly useful after a long day, especially if you use caffeine as a stimulant in the mornings, with coffee or energy drinks.†

Featured Reviews for zuSLEEP:
Yes, it does work...
I received as bonus in addition to an order I placed a little over a month ago. Tracking via FitBit, I average between 6-7 hours. I definitely noticed a difference the first time I used Total Sleep. Went right to sleep. I thought I would experiment and change things up a bit and take a nap one day, tried it that night and low and behold, it worked also. Repeated again and yes, went right to sleep. After having about a month and using every couple of days, I have discovered that it does work. Bottom line, there has not been a night where I have taken and didn't fall asleep within 10-15 minutes. I will admit, I was skeptical at first, however now after using several times, I believe it does help with sleep. My advice, give it a try.

Exceptional Product
I only take time to write reviews for exceptional or grossly unexceptional products and am getting zero compensation for this review. zuSLEEP is one of those truly exceptional products. I have never taken prescription sleep aids and can only base my experience with zuSLEEP against OTC sleep aids such as Z-Quil or Advil PM. What makes zuSLEEP exceptional for my wife and I are the following:
1. Significant feeling of calmness when you momentarily wake up to roll over, etc. during sleep. Relaxed, unstressed.
2. Easy to fall back asleep in the event you do awaken prematurely. Brain does not start thinking about work.
3. Feeling of a quality night's rest upon final awakening.
4. Excellent flavor profile has turned taking a sleep-aid into a ritual vs pill popping event.
To the 4th point, we turn on the hot water feature on our coffee machine and dispense around 200ml of hot water into zuSLEEP to make a sort of nightly tea. The temperature does not degrade efficacy, and the tea sends the message...... "Ah yes.... it's time to close the day." You can also use to wash down other supplements intended for nighttime use. Clear why zuSLEEP is sold out. One of the easiest recommendations in the UMZU portfolio of products. An exceptional product.

Truly Amazing!
I take it 30 minutes before I go to sleep.I live in Napili, Maui HI. Don’t have AC.Been brutally hot so far this Fall.I fall asleep around 25-30 minutes... despite being 80 degrees in my Bedroom sometimes hotter...usually listening to Audible I set the sleep timer for 15 minutes. The “shutters”are closed before the sleep timer shuts off. I wake up refreshed and ready to start my day! Thank you so much for creating zuSleep!
